Pakistan's Pervez Musharraf sentenced to Death!

This is the news that has been making the headlines today, not just in Pakistan but also in the rest of the world. Many international news channels have covered this news and brought it up on the internet as their top stories. For the local Pakistani, Pervez Musharraf is just another General who took over the democracy in Pakistan from our so-called democratic leaders.
The questions that arise on this particular issue are more than one.
  • Is this death penalty the right decision made by the court?
  • Did General Pervez Musharraf deserve this treatment?
  • Is this conviction enough for what the ex-president did?
  • Most importantly what did he do?

We did some research and found some answers, the answers which most Pakistanis these days are unaware of.
General Musharraf has been living in Dubai. He took power through a coup in 1999. He became a key US ally on the USA’s alleged “War on Terror”, a war from which Pakistan suffered innumerable loss, the damage that has still not been completely recovered even after 18 years since the advent of this bloody war. A war through which the Muslim world suffered badly.
General Musharraf has been in the office for seven long years, during his time the country seemingly progressed but there had been many crucially destructive events within his regime.

It is said that the rise in the country’s financial assets during his ruling period was not from the good legislation of General but that rise was just foreign aid given to him as a result of being highly submissive to the foreign powers.
This statement got proved by the fact that after his regime ended there was a clear downfall in the country’s monetary assets.
The general has been accused of exterminating the country’s law and constitution. He also tried to legitimize the coup. These unlawful acts of the General resulted in protests around the country; as a result, he declared a state of emergency in 2007 which gave him supreme powers as both the head of the state and head of the army like Chinese President Xi Jin ping.
Not just treason against the country by trying to forge its law, he falsely tried to make the coup legalized and his own powers unlimited, the ex-general and president has also been accused of making some really bad decisions like taking part in the USA’s War on Terror that resulted in a lot of terror in Pakistan itself, wrong use of the powers given to him, and alleged to have major a role in human trafficking in Pakistan during his long regime. The list of the accusations made on the General during his long period of martial-law government is long, the government, the opposition, and the military have its own say on this verdict against the General Pervez Musharraf but it is solely the job of the people of this country to differ between the right and wrong.
