Alif Finale Analyzed by Qursam Fatima "Just above our terror, the stars painted this story  in perfect silver calligraphy. And our souls, too often abused by ignorance,  covered our eyes with mercy." Aberjhani, a well-known poet & historian quoted this above written stanza in his book I made my boy out of poetry. I must say that his words are well relatable with our highly proclaimed writer, Umera Ahmed who always scented our soul with her words. -Appreciation I'm starting my last review of Alif from the exact words which was written in my very first review. I once again claim, Alif was not just a drama, it was enigma. It was truly a masterpiece and every single person associated with this dream project proved it wholeheartedly. A serial having spiritual storyline, brilliant direction, appealing productions and show-stealing actors, surely lives forever in the hearts of viewers. -Plot Alif was a story of two periods. |Islam gave women their rights, we didn’t!| |By: Uswah E Fatima|

Islam gave women their rights, we didn’t! By: Uswah E Fatima Many men and a few religious leaders say that there is no need for women to get up for their rights. I studied the matter a bit, and I agree and disagree with them both. I agree that Islam gave so many rights to the female gender that no other civilization ever did. More than 1400 years ago women were given the right to inherit property from several sources when only just 2 centuries ago an English woman could not inherit or own her property. Islam allows women to trade, get as much as education as she wants, speak, and educate. Her respect is the most important things that every man has to do but do we actually follow Islam or the principles of Islam? Is this society truly based on Islam? Well, we all pretty much know the answer to that, don’t we? No one can say that men and women equally give rights to each other, rights and duties that Islam has told them to give to each other. The men who mock wo...

Topic: Aurat March, the hot topic in town  News Review by: Uswah E Fatima Few days ago, Sir Khalil u Rehman Qamar insulted Madam Marvi in a talk show. Marvi abuses on Twitter. Another Aurat march on Women’s Day , a lot of misconceptions and many misinterpretations. If we try to sum up the last week in Pakistan then it would not be wrong to say it was one heck of a battle between feminists and anti-feminists, yet we all fail to understand so many things. None of us can truly declare the idea of wrong and right, can we? Objectives of the feminist movement If you look at the main objectives of the feminist movement or the Aurat March phenomenon, then you would realize that they are not that wrong. And then came to the busters, the placards, so some women thought that getting the right to sit the way you want is more important than getting rights of inheritance, that’s where the feud somehow begins. They will surely be unaware of the concepts of ...

Book name: Reclaim your heart Written by: Yasmin Mogahed Review by: Saira Daoud "This world cannot break you unless you give it permission!" Theme I don't know how many times I've read this book and how many times it made me cry. This book has my heart. It fills the heart with light and hope. It's not just a self-help book. It is a manual about the journey of the heart in and out of the ocean of this life. It is about how to keep your heart from sinking to the depth of that ocean and what to do when it does? How to get back our heart from this World? It is about why do people have to leave each other? Because world is temporary. Nothing remains forever. Here everything is temporary. The book teaches us when we lose something we can still be thankful for other things. Because in every bad situation, there is something to be grateful for. This book teaches MUSLIM WOMEN that they only and only need Allah to give them value not men. Allah...
