Verily, His Command, when He intends a thing, is only that He says to it, “Be!” – and it is!

Some plays are made on the social side and some highlight the reformation. Some stories are written romantically, while in some stories the religious aspect is written. Religious and spiritual aspects are rarely highlighted in our drama industry. Dramas that are not only seen but also understood are nothing short of a blessing. Those writers are in fact blessing who pen down such unusual topics. Jo Tu Chahay is also one such drama whose story is simple yet deep. It is beautifully written by Alif Allah aur Insan acclaimed writer Qaisera Hayat and directed by very talented Ilyas Kashmiri under the banner of MD Productions. This serial is for viewers of all ages as it revolves around a family. The focal point of this serial is quranic verse "Kun Faya Kun". This story revolves around an orphan and a poor girl who is waiting for Allah's Kun on her prayers. In the first episode, all the characters introduce themselves and give us the insight of their personalities. Aapa Jee (Azra Mansoor) is a very pious lady and sincerely trust Allah Almighty. She never worries about life-problems. She rely on Allah Almighty in her life. She is also shown as the matriarch of her family.
Aapa jee has three son. Ubaid is married to Shama and they have three children. Bisma, Burhan and Armaan. Bisma & Burhan both are like their mother. Like their mother, they both have a negative attitude toward everything and are greedy for money. Shama supports them in every wrongdoing and teaches them that your father's relatives are evil and poor. Armaan is sweet and caring just like his father. He looks at every aspect of life in a positive way. It is also his responsibility to cover all the expenses of the home.
Abbas is maried to Faseeha. They have two children. Hashir and Areesha. Like Shama, she is also greedy for money. This family is not much rich like Ubaid's family. Areesha is very fast and playful. Her character is very vibrant. She is one of those who think just of herself. She lives by getting what she likes for herself. Hashir, the leading Hero of this serial is very positive character. He loves everyone. He is always busy trying to bound his family in unity. He is caring & handsome job person.  Hashir's interaction with Aapa jee is very sweet. He loves Aapa jee too much and supports her financially or emotionally. Bisma and Hashir loved each other but there is a lot of difference between their personalities.Bisma is selfish girl while Hashir is selfless and empathetic. There are numerous obstacles in the way of meeting these two mainly family conflicts.

Aapa jee also had another son who had died alongwith his wife, leaving behind their daughter Mashal. Mashal is a young,  talented and beautiful girl who lives with her grandmother, Aapa jee. Her relationship with Aapa jee are love-filled and extremely strong. For Mashal, Aapa jee is like her mother. She teaches life-lessons to Mashal and strenghtens her relation with Allah Almighty. She is badly dissapointed from her life and waiting for her prayers to be accepted. She is madly happy even when her small wishes are fulfilled. Mashal wants everyone to love her. This serial is basically revolves around Mashal's spiritual transformation. She trusts Allah Almighty for a moment but the next moment something happens that her trust is broken. She has suffered numerous accidents in life due to which her faith has been weakened. Sometimes we are praying too intensly, but our duas are not accepted on time. It is taught by Aapa jee's character that Allah's strategy is behind it if prayers are not accepted on time. Aapa jee tells her to put your trust in Allah, HE will surely accept your desires. Arman wishes to marry Mashal which makes her extremely happy but when she finds out that Areesha loves Arman, she goes out of the way. Armaan and Areesha get married. She is again disappointed with Allah but Aapa jee encourage her to be patient and make sure that Allah will do better for you. She breaks down every day and Aapa jee makes herself stronger every day. Hashir considers Mashal his sister and takes great care of her. Her thinking is not strong yet so if anyone takes care of her even a little, she starts loving him. Mashal has fallen in love with Hashir and He doesn't even know that someone loves him so much. Hashir & Bisma love each other but unfortunately Mashal also falls in love with Hashir it is to see whose love is found. Mashal was very dissapointed in the beginning episodes. Then she slowly began to have a relationship with Allah. She tells Aapa jee about all the confusions of her thinking and she tells him about Allah's plan in a satisfying way. Now she has reached that point where she believes in Allah and instead of complaining, she starts praying.
Conclusion:

Concluding in few words, Jo Tu Chahay is a beautiful story. Seventeen episodes of this serial have passed. This serial is a little bit slow but there are so many twists after every few episodes. Senior cast is extremely talented and act so perfectly. The junior cast is also doing well, especially Areej Mohuddin aka Areesha and Ahmed Taha aka Armaan. Azra Mansoor is a role model. Every single dialogue of her is worth-considering. Her dialogues are like breathing in fresh air. Azra Mansoor conveys each and every dialogue in a perfect way. Makeup artist of this serial is not very professional. Aleezay Shah is doing well, but her makeup is not perfect according to her character. Zarnish gives amazing face expressions. Sharp eyebrows of Zarnish khan and Nargis Rashid perfectly match with their characters. All the male characters are working in a decent way. There are numerous lessons to be learned from this play. The story emphasizes the rights of neighbors. It explains the glory of Allah Almighty and describes how to overcome depression. It also teaches us that how parent training affects children. The play has strengthened people's belief that Allah Almighty surely accepts prayers, we just have to wait for the right time. The most beautiful and soulful dialogue of Aapa jee that concludes the whole story is written below:
"Zindagi kabhi kabhi asi jagha par puhnca deti hai jahan na agay koe umeed hoti hai aur na peeche koe rasta...phir maujze hote hain duaon se aur phir KUN FAYA KUN hojata hai aur taqdeer badal jati hai."
END!
